Cognitive Psychology (L&I 701) provides an overview of some of the most important research in educational psychology over the past 25 years. Specifically we explore a subset of cognitive psychology research: the body of research exploring effective learning strategies. Overall the course provides instruction in three areas: strategies for learning, thinking like a researcher, and making connections between theory and practice.
Our courses are offered over 9 teaching weekends. These weekends are typically two weeks apart (although there are 1 or 2 times where they are back-to-back). The modules listed below reflect the order of learning materials for the Spring 2019 version of the course. In the future the topics explored will likely be largely the same, although perhaps with 1 or 2 changes. In addition, the ordering of the modules is likely to change in the future.
